Vele van de ervarendste ende costij bedreven zeeluijden sustineren de quellen vrij dienstiger als de boots die eijscht. Wij vermercken sich op vele saken daer van geen experientie hebt, seer qualijck laet informeren ende vertrouwen; die costij tot d' equipagie wort gebruijckt cleen verstant heeft, 't blijckt daer uijt UE. ons aenschrijfft 't Quel de Bracq costij ondienstigh ende oock geheel uijtgevaren te sijn, dat hier geheel anders is bevonden en costij soo wel als hier hadde connen vertimmert worden, d' Quel is tot ontdecking van 't Suijtlant vertrocken.

Many of the most experienced and on coast proficient seamen sustain the quellen much serviceable as the bo'sun demands that, We noticed that on many matters have no experience, hardly lets inform and trusts; that the rigging for the coast is used with little knowledge, it seems that Your Nobleness writes to us that the Quel de Brack is unserviceable for the coast and also completely worn out, found that completely different here and coast as well as here  could renovate, the Quel has left for the discovery of the South land
